All seasons are an adventure in itself. During high winds and storms there is nothing finer than get some good fresh air. Beautiful polders, lovely villages and nature reserves make the island complete. Cycling, hiking, visiting towns and markets: there is so much to see.
The historic towns of Veere and Middelburg are really beautiful and very cosy. The lively Vlissingen with its long promenade and many terraces is on and top maritime. On the other island of Schouwen-Duivenland you will find Zierikzee and Neeltje Jans at the barrier.
With a tunnel you can go to Zeeuws Vlaanderen and then just over the border in Belgium to visit the monumental and cosy Bruges and Damme.
